safeTALK is a 3-hour suicide alertness training that prepares anyone age 15+ to become a suicide-alert helper. Many individuals experiencing thoughts of suicide are ambivalent and communicate invitations for help through their words and behaviors. safeTALK-trained participants learn to recognize these signals and connect individuals to life-saving resources, including caregivers trained in ASIST. π§ π€![]()
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:![]()
β’ Challenge attitudes that inhibit open conversations about suicide
β’ Recognize when someone may be experiencing thoughts of suicide
β’ Ask directly and clearly about suicide
β’ Listen in a way that shows concerns are taken seriously
β’ Connect the person quickly to trained suicide intervention support![]()

β’ Recognize common reasons individuals contact the helplines
